Ceiling Fan Installation Forest Lodge

Today we installed two CTC fans… which means close to ceiling! Fitting, as the ceilings in this inner west townhouse were quite low.

Sam wanted a ceiling fan installation in both bedrooms, so we supplied and fitted two 122cm fans, one in each room. Each one has a light built in.

A normal fan hangs down on a long rod. In low rooms that sits too close to your head and looks heavy. These ones sit nearly flat against the ceiling, so you get the breeze without the bulk.

The old light fittings came out first and the new fans went up in the same spots, so there's no extra clutter on the ceiling. The light is part of the fan now, so each room still has proper light.

Each fan comes with its own remote, for the fan speed and the light dimming. Sam can change it without getting out of bed.

While we were in the switchboard we also replaced the light safety switch with the newly regulated Type A RCD. It shuts the power off fast if something goes wrong, and it protects the circuit if too much is running through it. That brings this part of the house up to today's standards.

Before we left we tested both fans and paired the remotes, running them on every speed and checking the lights.

Sam's got two cooler, brighter bedrooms now, and the ceilings still feel nice and open.
