Zappi GLO EV Charger Installation - Strathfield South

Claudia's home already had solar, and with a new EV in the driveway it made sense to get a smart charger in.

On this particular charger we always run an extra cable for a clamp that reads the solar. It will still charge without it, but we want the clamp in so you can properly see the solar system working.

This one was a nicer EV job. We had access right next door to where we were working and underneath the house, so we were able to pull the cable underneath, clip it off neatly and fish it back up to the meter box.

While we were in there we noticed the switchboard wasn't compliant with today's standards. It had a number of Type AC breakers rather than Type A. So we fitted out a new switchboard and added a surge protection device while we were at it.

The zappi GLO went neatly onto the brickwork with an isolation switch close by. Everything was tested and commissioned on the day. Solar is reading in the app and Claudia's VW ID.4 Pro is ready to charge, either manually or on scheduled charging, free from the sun.
