Ceiling Fan Installs - Lilyfield

Swapped two old light fittings out for ceiling fans at Kat's place in Lilyfield today.

The pick of the two was the Airis Flush DC ceiling fan in the study. It sits just 15.5cm off the ceiling. So if you've got a low ceiling, or a trap door up to the roof like Kat has, this is the fan I'd go for. It fitted perfectly.

In the bedroom we went with an Airfusion Line 52 inch DC fan with a light. Dark three blade finish, a bit bigger and bolder. It gives the room a nice bit of contrast against the white ceiling.

Both are DC and both run off wall remotes, so no pull cords to deal with. The light on the flush fan is dimmable, and you can switch it between warm, cool and daylight to suit the room.

A fan needs something solid to mount to, so we fitted new timber supports up in the ceiling for both of them. Your fan is spinning above your head at night, so that part is worth doing properly.

One fan went where the old light fitting was. The other needed a new cable run to a brand new spot.

I loved the light weight, the great airflow and the sleek lighting from it.

So Kat's got two rooms that stay cooler and look better than they did this morning.
