Tesla EV Charger Install Beverly Hills

We have done plenty of jobs for Alex over the years. A switchboard in 2023, some rewiring before that. So when it came time to charge an electric car at home, the question was not whether his place could handle it. It was which charger to choose.

He had one problem to solve. His carport sits on the opposite side of the house to the power board, so getting power out to the car was always going to be the real work.

He asked us to look at two things, a power point on the outside kitchen wall and a proper charging setup out at the carport. We ended up doing both.

The charger we fitted was a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector. It went on the brick wall right where the car parks, so the lead reaches easily.

We ran a new cable from the board all the way through to the carport. Beside the charger we fitted a weatherproof switch, so it can be turned off safely right where it is being used. That matters on a charger that stays live.

Back at the board the charger got its own dedicated circuit and its own safety switch.

We also fit a fault detection device on that circuit. If anything goes wrong, it trips and cuts the power. That is what protects the home.

The switchboard we fitted in 2023 is three phase, which is why Alex could have a proper fast charger rather than a slow plug in. The power was already there. It just needed its own run and the right protection.

Alex now has a dedicated, properly protected circuit for the car, and a power point exactly where he wanted one.
